This article discusses the Move Update standards implemented by the U.S. Postal Service and the possibility of increased postal fees for utilities as a result. It requires utilities and other companies to update customer and member addresses kept on file within 95 days immediately preceding a mailing, but also now assesses a fine on those mailings deemed noncompliant. However, the mandate encourages utilities to maintain their customer files and keep addresses updated, thus saving money in the long run.
