This article discusses the Environments For Living® Certified Green Program that combines indoor environmental quality, water conservation, and appliance efficiency with the assurance of a limited guarantee on energy use. The new benefit is offered by Masco Home Services through its Environments For Living Program, a national turnkey program designed to assist builders in constructing and marketing green homes. The Certified Green Program encompasses many of the features of such standards as the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and the International Code Council/National Association of Home Builders Green Building Standard but goes beyond them as a commercially viable program that has generated participation by production home builders.
