This article announces that Hanson Pipe & Precast and Hanson Pressure Pipe have donated more than 200 tons of reinforced concrete pipe, precast structures, and pressure pipe to the city of Jacksonville, Florida, Artificial Reef Program to be used in the Floyd's Folly area offshore of Ponte Vedra. Designed to aid sea life, the reef lies in approximately 74 ft of water and stands almost 12 ft high. A 20‐ft‐long pressure pipe weighing almost 36,000 lbs served as the barge's anchor when the reef was set in place. All of the structures helped to create a new habitat for marine life, more accessible fishing grounds for anglers, and nature observation areas for divers.
