This column announces the election of Michael J. McGuire (of Michael J. McGuire Inc., Los Angeles, CA) to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). This honor was given to McGuire in recognition of his scientific contributions that have improved the safety and aesthetics of drinking water. McGuire has been a long‐time member of AWWA, and has contributed more than 40 articles to the Journal AWWA since 1978.
