In his column, AWWA Executive Director Gary Zimmerman considers how the green revolution that is exploding around the world has forever altered the way we view our environment, and our understanding of the effect of our presence in it. He introduces the Journal's theme this month as water conservation, and mentions various topics covered in this issue that include: the Water Wise for Life traveling kiosk of City West Water (the Melbourne, Australia, water utility) educates the public about water conservation; how water conservation can be used to support sustainable housing development; and, how water budgets work for the utility as well as the customer.
