In his first column for the Journal of the American Water Works Association since becoming AWWA's Executive Director, Gary Zimmerman introduces himself and states that he is committed to advancing AWWA's mission. He provides information on his educational background and work experience, and states his intention to “lead and to focus staff efforts toward measurable goals that definitively advance our mission”. He indicates that these efforts toward measurable goals will comprise a status report that will be published regularly in his column.
