This article announces that Poseidon Resources Corporation selected a team consisting of Acciona Agua, American Water, J.R. Filanc Construction Company, and PBS&J to design, engineer, construct, and commission a $270 million, 50‐mgd seawater desalination plant in Carlsbad, California. The plant is expected to serve 300,000 area residents with drinking water. Long‐term purchase agreements with water agencies in the region have already claimed more than 65% of the plant's 50‐mgd capacity.
