This article highlights AWWA's Workforce Strategies Committee, part of AWWA's Management Division whose new name (formerly Human Resources), mission, and membership reflect the growing importance of workforce issues in the industry. The article discusses the top five priorities on the Committee's agenda and the need to market the water profession in a way that speaks to the deeply held beliefs and ambitions of the young people the industry. The article mentions several AWWA publications on workforce planning, including an internship initiative sponsored by the Workforce Strategies Committee.
