This report discusses an innovative retrofit of advanced ultrafiltration (UF) membranes to increase capacity and improve water quality at the WaterPro Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Draper, Utah. Utilities with aging or underperforming conventional treatment plants are increasingly evaluating and implementing granular media basin membrane retrofits. The report discusses treatment challenges in Draper, other upgrade options examined by WaterPro, selection of ZENON Environmental Engineering Inc.'s ZeeWeed® 1000 UF membranes, WaterPro's UF process, automated functionality, capital and operational efficiencies, and meeting more stringent future regulations.
