This article announces the City of Daytona Beach, Florida, won the Gold Award for the best‐tasting municipal water from the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting Festival in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. In 1995, the City replaced a 25‐year‐old chlorination facility with a disinfection process that involves onsite generation of sodium hypochlorite. The City chose Carter VerPlanck, a provider of water and wastewater solutions, to customize and oversee installation of the system.
