This article discusses the City of San Diego's workforce diversity program, started in 1991, and has since spun off a number of training programs and activities that support many of the city's departments, including the water department. The article discusses developing a team and training program, developing a strategic plan, affirming the department's commitment to the program, celebrating diversity, and enhancing the program with new educational offerings called the Diversity University.
