This article describes a taste test sponsored by Birmingham Water Works (BWW) in Birmingham, Alabama to compare the taste of its water with that of bottled water. During the two‐day, blind taste test, testers sampled BWW's tap water as well as a top brand of bottled water and a well‐known distilled water. Results showed that 65% of the participants preferred the taste of Birmingham's tap water over the other two choices. The article presents an outline of the BWW “Taste of Life” Taste Test Plan.
