This article announces that the Tampa Bay Water Regional Surface Water Treatment Plant, owned by Tampa Bay Water in Clearwater, Florida, has received the 2003 Public‐Private Partnership Award for best infrastructure project from the National Council for Public‐Private Partnerships (NCPPP). One of the largest design‐build‐operate (DBO) drinking water projects in the U.S., this 66 mgd surface water treatment plant was made possible through a public‐private partnership between Tampa Bay Water and USFilter Operating Services Inc.
