CableRunner™ North America LLC, a public/private business venture that is partly owned and operated by the Water and Sewer Department for the City of Vienna, Austria (CableRunner Europe), has announced an agreement with the City and County of San Francisco, California, to provide the city with up to 2 mi (3 km) of fiber‐optic connectivity using the company's Flexible technology as a pilot project to demonstrate how CableRunner's technology can be successfully implemented. This technology can provide municipalities with solutions for deploying fiber‐optic network infrastructures within a city's existing sewer and drainage systems.
