This article reports that the second quarterly report by InfoNetrix LLC on real‐time automation and controls (RTAC) project activity in the water/wastewater utilities market shows a current total of $25.6 million in current and planned RTAC projects. Between January and March 2003, InfoNetrix analysts interviewed managers at 200 water and wastewater utilities across the United States and Canada and documented their current and planned RTAC activity. For the purposes of its market research, InfoNetrix defines RTAC as the real‐time automation and controls component of the water/wastewater management solutions (WWMS) market.
