Getting training at AWWA's subsection level is often the best way for small systems with small budgets to get the type of comprehensive, hands‐on education and advice they need. Subsection board members, who typically come from the staffs of local utilities, vendors, consultants, and/or local and state drinking water programs, devote their time and talent for the sole purpose of providing relevant training and professional growth opportunities for local drinking water professionals. The Inland Empire Subsection, one of 14 subsections of AWWA's Pacific Northwest Section, provided education to 478 people during the past year, and during the past 7 years, it has provided education to 2,100 people.
