With increasing demands being placed on water utilities across the country as a result of stricter regulations, growing demands on supply, and expanding efforts to streamline operations and increase efficiency, water utilities are continually developing ways to enhance procurement and delivery processes to better serve their customers. This article discusses the desgin‐build (DB) procurement approach that provides the opportunity to expedite project schedules, reduce overall project costs, and provide a single‐source accountability and responsibility to the utility.
