Under the continuous filter monitoring requirements of the Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (IESWTR), a water system may have to prepare a filter profile, perform an individual filter self‐assessment, or conduct a comprehensive performance evaluation (CPE). Individual filter requirements under the IESWTR are given in the guidance manual. Requirements for continuous filter monitoring for turbidity and the CPE provisions have been reviewed. Assessing individual filter performance is discussed in this article.
