In this column, AWWA Executive Director Jack Hoffbuhr offers two tenets to help us regain control of information technology, in particular email ‐ only send email that is needed and wanted, and remember that you are trying to communicate. He sites a recent survey that indicated that about 31 percent of all email received is unsolicited. Also, he points out that communication suffers when people neglect to use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling when sending email.
