A 10‐tube per 10‐fold dilution most‐probable‐number (MPN) table, generated by a computer program, was calculated using Hoskins's formula. The 10‐tube table provides more definitive MPN values and narrower confidence intervals than the commonly used five‐tube per 10‐fold dilution MPN table.
