One of the problems with implementing corrosion control has been the difficulty in designing a comprehensive control strategy. The Rothberg, Tamburini & Winsor Model for Corrosion Control and Process Chemistry is a microcomputer spreadsheet‐based tool developed to provide the same information as Caldwell‐Lawrence (C‐L) diagrams regarding pH and CaCO3 equilibrium. To overcome the drawbacks of the diagrams, the model provides a numerical solution based on a specific user's water characteristics and can quickly analyze alternatives. Multiple chemicals can be evaluated simultaneously.
