It is important to the efficient progress of a construction project that disputes among the parties be resolved efficiently. Standard contract documents available from and periodically updated by the Engineers Joint Contracts Document Committee are a convenient and economical vehicle for ensuring that conflict at any time during a project is minimized. The documents' standard language has become well known to bidding contractors and the legal profession, resulting in more competitive bidding and less frequent litigation.
