The author of this letter feels that home water treatment units are a feasible alternative for compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) in small and medium sized utilities, and that the groups involved in the controversy over such devices are being inflexible in their positions. He feels that the Water Quality Association should relax its rigid anti‐regulatory position if it plans to further the case of point‐of‐entry devices for SDWA compliance.
