A multiobjective optimization model that describes the water supply system of the Indianapolis (Ind.) Water Company has been formulated and tested. This linear program is proposed as a tool for studying the operation of the system during periods of drought. Four conflicting objectives, eight supply sources, three reservoirs, and twelve pressure districts are included in the model, which was used to study both long‐term and real‐time operations.
