The monitoring requirements for corrosion control in public drinking water systems established in 1980 placed responsibility with individual water purveyors, in conjunction with state regulation. The monitoring deadline was February 1983. Once data were gathered, their usefulness in addressing corrosion problems depended on how they were compiled. This report provides guidance for water purveyors in organizing these data, suggests laboratory and field investigations, and outlines a corrosion control strategy.
