An overview of the methods of modeling water systems to improve and expand distribution facilities is followed by case studies of applications in Charlottesville, Va., Decatur, Ala., and Opelika, Ala. As computer hardware becomes less expensive and software becomes increasingly available, these techniques are within the reach of small systems as well as large systems.
