The use of pumps that operate efficiently over a broad range of coverage when combined with efficient drivers can achieve significant savings in energy costs. Dual‐speed, 2‐winding motors provide a broad coverage of pumping requirements and achieve high operating efficiencies. The choices made to meet differing conditions at three installations in Canada serve as examples.
