Energy efficiency and related components of cost are of contemporary concern to those responsible for the technical and managerial operations of water utility systems. This discussion was sponsored by the AWWA Management Division at the 1982 Annual Conference in Miami Beach, Fla. The panel members were: Osmund A. Brynie, operations branch manager, San Antonio Water Board; E. Rawlins Collerain, director, Shreveport Department of Water and Sewage; Frank D. Emigh, chief electrical/mechanical engineer, Tacoma Water Department; James M. Perry, electrical engineer, American Water Works Service Company; James C. Scott, project manager, Black & Veatch Consulting Engineers; and Jeptha A. Wade Jr., vice president and chief engineer, California Water Service Company. The panel was moderated by Erland A. Persson, manager of energy services, Kennedy/Jenks Engineers and chairman of the division's committee on energy management.
