The Michigan Adsorption Design and Application Model—applied here to seven specific toxic or carcinogenic compounds found in US surface waters and groundwaters—is being used for data synthesis and for simulation and prediction of the performance of carbon beds in removing trace quantities of such compounds under conditions approximating water treatment practice.
