A review of the measurement techniques for the control of organic chemicals in drinking water is presented. Because data acquired since the mid‐1970s have shown a wide variety of specific organic chemicals to be present in finished drinking waters and their sources of supply, it is increasingly important for water utility laboratories to have sophisticated analytical capabilities available to them.
