Coagulation is one of the most important treatment processes required for a surface water supply to assure acceptable finished water quality. The key to good coagulation control is using techniques easily understood by operating personnel. The American Water Works Service Company, Inc., Haddon Heights, N.J., uses two practical testing techniques for coagulation control: pilot filters and zeta potential.
