The issues concerning regionalization of water utilities have been discussed by many AWWA committees. Recently, AWWA's Management Division appointed a special committee to study the association's role in supporting or developing programs related to the regionalization of water supply utilities. The committee was charged with studying and defining the concept of regionalization and with preparing a report to the Trustees of the Management Division. This report may serve as the basis for an AWWA policy statement on regionalization.
