The July 1979 issue of Journal AWWA highlights advances in bacterial, mutagenic‐carcinogenic, and trihalomethane detection that are dependent upon advances in bioassay, gas chromatographic, and membrane filter tests. As the inception and dissemination of the new diseases are not static, it is imperative that advances in the analytical methods for their detection and control continue.
