A single reported case of arsenic intoxication set in motion a large‐scale investigation aimed at tracking the occurrence and sources of arsenic in well water and determining safe levels of concentration. The investigators' resulting recommendations focus on eliminating further instances of exposure to arsenic contamination through a program of water‐supply surveillance and other precautions.
