Safe drinking water must be supplied to the consumer's tap and not simply to the service connection. The Connecticut State Health Department, Water Supplies Section believes that utility money should be invested to protect the people who drink the water, not simply protect the water in the street pipes. Cooperation between the consumers and suppliers is imperative in solving cross connections and backflow problems.
