Engineers from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) completed a fire protection survey of the City of Birmingham, Alabama and published a report and grading in 1974. The grading schedule covers the fire department, fire service communications, fire safety control, and water supply. Business and commercial district fire protection, hydrant spacing, and hydrant inspection are discussed.
