The ten‐year development plan for water supply instituted in 1975 intends to increase the percentage of water service supplied from 47 to 76, while population increases from 13 000 000 to 16 520 000. To date, an increase of 4 per cent a year has been recorded and 128 utilities have been associated into the new system.
