Waterborne disease outbreaks are a problem in all water‐supply and distribution systems. This committee report documents the occurrences of such outbreaks for the years 1971–72. In addition, particular cases are outlined and examined. It is hoped that this approach will help water utilities to become more aware of the situations that may lead to contamination in their supplies.
