Beaver Reservoir in northwest Arkansas serves as the major water‐supply source for several cities, including Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale, with an estimated total population approaching 75 000. The objective of the study of the main tributaries to this reservoir—White River and War Eagle Creek—was to relate stream‐water‐quality development to the environmental factors present in each ecosystem.
