ERTS‐1 has been aloft for nearly a year. During that time many experiments have been performed to determine how ERTS can aid scientists in many fields. In the area of water sources one experiment is concerned with the Delaware River basin. How the data are collected by ERTS, how they are relayed to NASA, and how they finally reach the USGS Current Record Center in Pennsylvania for use are explained in this article.
