This article discusses the Western States Water Council, formed in 1965 is to develop effective cooperation among western states in planning for programs leading to integrated development by state, federal, and other agencies of their water resources. The article discusses the function of the Council, along with organization of the council, working committees, federal‐state relationships, council accomplishments, and future opportunities.
