In 1963, it was decided to develop a basis for the design of multiple level outlet works for the Del Valle Dam and Reservoir Project along the route of the South Bay Aqueduct. The California Department of Water Resources initiated a study to determine the costs and benefits of such an operation. This paper presents background material, the results of the study and information on the current construction status of the Del Valle Project.
