In 1962, the six counties in Florida taking the main impact of the missile launch activities at Cape Canaveral‐Kennedy established a Regional Planning Council. This article discusses the council's activities, which centered on the preparation of a preliminary regional development plan and background planning material. Utility status and trends were studied, along with population data, utility growth, future utility capacity, anticipated per capita water demand, wastewater disposal, desalting, economic considerations, water transportation, fertilization developments, Florida lakes, biologic surveys, specific water conditions, utility administration, proposed law expansion, and sewer service charges.
