This paper reports the findings of a recent study on the spread of an enterovirus, the Sabin strain of attenuated poliovirus‐2 in creeks, lakes and swimming pools, the viricidal effect of various halogens in swimming pool water, and the effect on virus infectivity of aeration of sewage followed by percolation of the effluent through columns containing sand, clay, or soil.
