The more efficient utilization of the materials now available and the improved techniques of welding and erection can result in better water storage tanks at lower costs. Steel is a widely accepted constructional material for water storage tanks. Steel tanks have been found to be economical in both original cost and maintenance costs over a long period of time. They are easily fabricated and maintained. The new higher strength steels present unlimited design possibilities together with greater potential economies for all water authorities.
