This article discusses the level of customer service offered by U.S. water utilities. Additional services, such as are already offered by other utilities, are beginning to be adopted by water utilities throughout the U.S. and more may prove justified by surveys to determine what special services the customer wants on his side of the meter. Better public relations and a more efficient system as a whole should be the result of an expanded concept of service.
