Ultraviolet (UV) light has provided an outstandingly superior decontamination procedure for membrane filter funnels. Carryover contamination trouble has been eliminated and the speed of operation more than doubled. The UV treatment requires no extra operation time and permits operation with much less time‐consuming rinsing. One quick rinse has been adopted to assist in decontamination.
