The determination of the mobility of colloidal particles by microelectrophoresis is a technique that continues to gain widespread interest and application in the field of coagulation. Since the publication of an article in 1962 by Black and Smith on the operating procedures for microelectrophoretic studies, a number of improvements have been made in both the technique and the equipment. This article notes the improvements that have been made since the introduction of this research technique and is presented as additional supplementary information for the procedure.
