This article describes the subscope camera that has been developed to photograph specific conditions as they exist in a well. Study and evaluation of these photographs can then result in a better selection of corrective methods and can reduce the cost of repairs; or, in some cases, photographs can indicate that wells should be abandoned, because repair would be too expensive or effective for only a short period. The most common uses of the subscope camera are described in this article.
