This article discusses the selection and evaluation of the methods most suitable for sampling and determining zinc in natural waters. The analytic procedures discussed in this article are applicable to problems in radiobiology, zinc ore tracing, plant nutrition, or the equilibria that apply to normal zinc in natural waters. A brief discussion is provided of each of the following techniques: activation analysis; polarographic technique; zincon compleximetric method (colorimetric); and, dithizone compleximetric method (colorimetric).
